  2. Have your pork cut to your specifications.
  3. Reduce energy consumption by combining multiple deliveries into one delivery.
Overview
  • Half : $5.09 per pound based on the hanging weight.
  • Whole: $4.89 per pound based on the hanging weight.
  • These prices can change at anytime. Even if you have put a deposit down you will still have to pay the new prices. This helps us cover our costs.
  • Variety Cuts: We cannot guarantee that you will receive all of the variety cuts like head, feet, liver, tongue, kidneys, etc. that you request. We try our best, as does the processor, but many times the USDA inspector will not allow these items to be marketed.
  • This price includes processing. The hanging weight is the weight of the carcass as it hangs in the cooler at the processor.  The weight of the actual packaged cuts will be less than the hanging weight due to bone loss and other waste.
  • Contact us if your’re considering a half or whole pig.  We’ll let you know the availability and how long it will be until we’re ready to process.
  • Next, decide how you would like it to be cut up.
  • We require a $100 deposit for a half and a $200 for a whole. This deposit reserves your spot on our waiting list and allows us to better plan our harvest schedule.  It is non-refundable and will be subtracted from your final total. Cutting instructions will be required when we schedule a date with the processor.
  • Watson Farms will only accept one payment for a deposit.  If you are splitting this cost please have those you are splitting it with pay the primary customer.  Then the primary customer should pay Watson Farms the full amount of the deposit.
  • Likewise, Watson Farms will only accept one payment per invoice.  If you are splitting this cost please have those you are splitting it with pay the primary customer.  Then the primary customer should pay Watson Farms the full amount of the invoice.
What to Expect
  • Hanging weights range from 175 to 250 pounds.
  • You can expect to receive 100 to 160 pounds of packaged, frozen pork from a whole pig.
  • Buying in bulk can save around $50 for a half or about $100 for a whole when compared to purchasing the same amount at retail prices.
  • Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Here is a link to a Google spreadsheet of an actual pig that we processed in February 2012.  It’s hanging weight was 245 pounds.  The spreadsheet shows the amount of each cut that we got back and the total weight of the packaged cuts.  This large pig would cost $833.00 at the bulk rate, and you would have received 163 pounds of packaged pork.
