In 2023 I visited Polyface Farms where I became interested in rabbits. My favorite thing was the soft and fuzzy baby bunnies. I decided to purchase two rabbits and start growing a herd of my own. My first two rabbits’ names were Spots and Chinchilla. Since then, my herd has grown to over forty rabbits. Even so, I hope to continue growing my herd in the future. My goal is to raise happy, healthy rabbits, and I ensure that they all have adequate diets and space to run around. Any rabbits that do not meet the set standards are culled in order to provide only the best in meat quality. Rabbits that do meet the standards are fed a diet that consists of mostly hay and other grasses. Through raising rabbits I hope to provide quality meat in both an ethical and sustainable way.
