Here’s the weekly roundup from Watson Farms and your direct connection to your farmer. Enjoy the latest edition of Pasture Posts!
Happy Sunday from Lowrys! 🚜
The transition into spring is always a high-energy time here at Watson Farms. Between the greening pastures and the sounds of new life, the momentum is building. We’ve been keeping our heads down and our boots moving, and we have some big updates to share with you this week.
The Spring Chicken Stock Up Event 🍗
First off, we have been absolutely blown away by the response to our Spring Chicken Stock Up Event. You all have been busy filling your freezers, and because of that, a few of our popular items are starting to run low.
If you’ve been waiting to grab your poultry, now is the time. While some cuts are thinning out, we still have a great supply of smaller whole broilers (in the 2lb and 3lb ranges) which are perfect for family dinners or Sunday roasts. We also have plenty of wings ready for the grill or air fryer.
To keep things exciting, we’ve just launched two brand-new bundles to help you save:
- The Wing Commander Bundle: For the true wing aficionados.
- The Flight and Flock Bundle: A perfect mix of whole birds and wings to get you through the season.
Save the Date: Spring Farm Day! 🗓️
We are thrilled to officially announce our Spring Farm Day on April 4, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The response to our Farm Days over the last couple of years has been spectacular. We love opening the gates and seeing so many people interested in where their food comes from and why regenerative agriculture matters. We’ll have:
- A bounce house for the kids.
- A local food truck serving up delicious eats 🍔.
- Dozens of artisan craft vendors 🎨.
The highlight for me, however, is always the free hayrides where I get to interact with you directly. These aren’t just scenic tours; they are a chance for me to share the “why” behind what we do. We’ll talk about why cattle are uniquely designed to thrive on a 100% grass diet and how that translates to the nutrient-dense beef on your plate.
We’ll also discuss the reality of modern livestock production. It’s a sobering fact that in the U.S., roughly 99% of chickens and 98% of pigs spend their entire lives inside confinement barns, never touching a blade of grass. When you see our animals out on the pasture, you’re seeing the rare exception to the industrial rule.
Expanding the Mission 🌱
While factory farming continues to consolidate and grow—with the number of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) increasing even as the total number of farms decreases—we are choosing to grow in the opposite direction.
This year, we are expanding our pastured chicken enterprise by about a third. Our H2A crew has been working incredibly hard constructing two brand-new portable broiler houses.

There’s a bit of irony in where we’re building these new units. They are currently sitting right next to one of our old confinement turkey barns. It’s a stark visual reminder of where we’ve come from. Transitioning away from that old confinement model to this portable pasture system has immeasurably enhanced the lives of the birds.
Instead of living on their own manure without fresh air for weeks, these floorless houses allow the birds to access the pasture and have fresh air and sunshine while remaining protected. Every single day, we pull them to a fresh “footprint” of grass, giving them 24 hours of fresh forage and insects while they naturally fertilize the soil. You’ll get a first-hand look at our growing flocks 🐔 during the Farm Day hayrides.
Product Spotlight: The Wing Commander Bundle 🍗
Looking to master the grill this weekend? Our Wing Commander Bundle is designed for those who know there’s no such thing as “too many wings.” Stock up on our pasture-raised wings and taste the difference that sunshine and fresh air make.

Check out this ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review from Erica:
“So thankful for Watson Farms! Finally, clean, non-toxic, grass-fed meat raised the right way. When my husband took his first bite of their burger, he said it tasted like the meat from his grandpa’s farm in the ’70s—pure, flavorful, and real. Their beef [and] chicken… are on another level. You can taste the difference, and I’ll never go back to store-bought meat again. This is food with integrity.”
We would greatly appreciate it if you would be kind enough to leave us a review. It helps first-time customers purchase with confidence.

Tell a Friend!
It’s now easier than ever to Give $15 and Get $15 through our Referral Program. We don’t spend a lot of money of advertising, but rather we focus on producing products that people love and are willing to tell others about. So we depend on word of mouth to find new customers and ultimately to heal more land.
So in an effort to streamline this process we have made it easier to tell others (via email, Facebook, or Twitter) about Watson Farms. And it’s all automated on the backend, so you don’t have to rely on us to issue the store credits manually. Just head over to our Referrals Page and start sharing!
